A list of the greatest takeaways in Spain?
Living in Spain has always been your dream and you have managed to make it happen by selling your house back home. Ypu’ve been to the beach all day, the sun has made you really tired and the kids are already complaining about being hungry. You look at those takeaway leaflets on the floor but you are not sure if that is the good quality food you want to reward yourself with.
There’s nothing more annoying than being hungry and cannot order a takeaway just because you don’t understand any Spanish, written or spoken. You try in Google using plain english but the results you get make you wonder whether you are doing something wrong or not.
Those magic words are ‘comidas para llevar‘ and ‘comida a domicilio‘. There is even a ‘takeaway finder‘ that you just have to type the city where you live and that will list all the available options with a lot of useful information such as ‘type of food’, whether it is open, whether there is a delivery service etc. But most importantly, you can find useful reviews (some in English), its location in the map, opening hours etc. What is amazing is that you can even choose the type of food you fancy e.g. Italian and you will come across a great selection if Italian restaurants where you can order some food from.
What you hate the most though, is that your girlfriend/boyfriend love Chinese food and you want to make surprise them but how?. Nor you want to end up in La Rambla, because only tourists go there to eat, and you want to go where the Catalans go. Being organised and knowing where to look for information can make a big difference in life. Having no friends makes it a bit hard to find out where all those great hidden local places are located. Let the tourists be, you are not a turist anymore!!
