Travelling around with other people can be very stressful; especially if you have conflicting ideas about what you want out of the trip. It is sad but true that holidays like this can end up ruining a friendship or putting an end to a romance. If you are planning on travelling around with your friends and want to stay friends with them, then the following tips should be of some help.
- Plan before hand about the type of things you want to do and where you want to go. Doing this before you actually go away is a good idea. It is not something that you have to set in stone but at least you will have made some plans that you can agree on.
- When it comes to travelling with others, there has to be a bit of give and take. Make sure that everyone is getting their wishes met at least now and again. If just one person gets their way all the time, resentment will bubble up under the surface of the other person.
- It is important that you are going to make allowances for the other persons oddities if you are going to be spending a lot of time together. Holidays are not the time for pointing out each others faults. Biting your tongue is a good thing to do so that you can get along with each other.
- Allow time to be able to get away alone for a few hours. The reason this is important is because you can end up seeing too much of one another and start to get irritated. Even just a walk for an hour in the evenings can be enough to have a feeling of space.
- You may have a friend who irritates you on a normal day and if you go away with them it could be really magnified. It might be a good idea to avoid going on holiday with this person because it is almost certain to end in disaster.
