As an example, all but two countries in Europe require getting a travel visa online or by mail, while just about every African and Asian country requires you have a visa to go there. Chile actually issues visas to anyone, provided the passport shown is both valid and not set to expire until you intend to travel back to your country of origin. Venezuela issues tourists cards as a visa alternative. Of the Middle Eastern countries that allow visitors, all require visas. Additionally, Saudi Arabia won’t allow tourists in who aren’t involved with a government sanctioned tour group, so if you aspire to visit that nation, you’ll need to do a little more planning than simply buying a plane ticket.
Of course, a visa is also required for any foreigners wishing to visit the United States. Luckily, the process is relatively clear and straightforward. Considering the threat of terrorism looming over the US, however, a visa isn’t a guarantee of entry into the United States. Federal agencies including the US Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection can revoke a person’s visa at any time they deem necessary. To apply for a visa, it’s a good idea to go to American Embassy or Consulate in one’s home country and begin the interview and application process.
