Oman's national carrier, Oman Air, have revealed that they are to launch flights from Muscat to Dammam, offering those travelling from London Heathrow connecting flights to Saudi Arabia. From September, both economy and business class options will be available for passengers who want to travel to Saudi for business or pleasure.
Whilst Oman Air already have a direct route from London Heathrow to their operational base of Muscat, the new services to Dammam will allow a greater range of options for travellers starting their journey in Britain. The third largest city in Saudi Arabia, after Riyadh and Jeddah, Dammam is quickly becoming an important business hub for the Middle East, and as such the new service is likely to be of great importance for many.
The inclusion of a business class on the new flights will almost certainly attract those flying to Saudi for business needs. Incorporated into the wider bodied Airbus's, business classes with Oman Air offer lie-flat, wide seats, privacy screen, 17 inch monitor for entertainment and ample space to stow luggage and belongings, making the seats almost of similar par to some airline's first classes. Elsewhere, Oman Air's first class options, included on their daily direct service from London Heathrow to Muscat, offer a l25.5inch wide, lie-flat seat with integrated massage system. And with a 23inch monitor for entertainment plus storage space and luxury lounge area, Oman Air has some of the best first class accommodation in the entire industry.
