Places In France That You Should See In Your Lifetime
Most people who visit France will go straight to Paris. But when it comes to France, there are many more places worth visiting and the ones which are my favourites are listed below. In order to get the full benefit of a country like France it is important that you spend some time there travelling around all the different parts.
- Along the banks of the Dordogne River you will find a feudal village called Beynac. This beautiful area was featured in the film Chocolat and if you have seen that then you will already have an idea of its beauty. The entire area is like something from a fairy tale with the fabulous castle overlooking it. If you havent already visited the village of Beynac you are certainly missing out on a special part of France.
- Another beautiful place to visit is Mont St Michel which is a tiny island that can be reached by foot when the tide is out. This island has some tiny cobbled streets which are amazing and the abbey is probably one of the most famous in the whole of France. If you really want to get the most from this fantastic location then you should come when there are not so many tourists.
- Right in the heart of the French Riviera lies Nice and this town has everything that you would expect from a coastal town. There are many outdoor cafes here where you can spend time relaxing or you can take some really lovely long walks. Nice was one of the first real tourist destinations in the world and people continue to flock there today.
- Alsace is a town which has been ruled by both France and Germany many times over the years and because of this you will find a unique blend of both cultures. This is a really special place and you can see from the buildings what happens when two cultures collide.
It is a lot of fun getting an English ferry (ferry angleterre) for a visit to the UK. Very often, though, some enjoy the delights of the Channel Tunnel (tunnel sous la manche). If you want to stay in England (sejour angleterre), these are probably the best methods of getting there.
