Virgin Offers Frequent Flyer Points Across Airlines
It has been revealed that Virgin Group are to finally link their airlines together, offering travellers the possibility of earning frequent flyer points across the range of operators. V Australia, Virgin America, and Virgin Atlantic will allow passengers to accrue points when using each others services, making continued travel with the group preferable for many flyers.
Highlighting the possibility for Sir Richard Branson to create a fourth global alliance between the three operators, the move will no doubt be met with enthusiasm by passengers. Economy and business class passengers alike will be able to earn points whenever they fly on one of the three airlines -increasing the overall number of points gained and making it sensible to utilise Virgin flights for connections wherever possible.
In addition it was also revealed that travellers connecting to flights within the group would also benefit from only having to check themselves and their baggage in once, with transport of luggage to connections automatic. Furthermore, whilst no time period has been suggested, uniform use of elite status will also be introduced, allowing users to gain even more points in the frequent flier programme.
Flying from a range of airports across the UK, including London Heathrow and Manchester, Virgin remains a popular airline for many. And with the news that customer ease and rewards are to be increased, deals with the company are likely to remain attractive.
