You should try going to Canada this year, head to Vancouver!
Vancouver is just on the coast of Canada. Before the City of Vancouver was built, there were indications of Aborigines from about 10,000 years ago. This city has been the place of many different events that have sparked interest across the world.
In 1858 Vancouver was not yet established, but almost 26,000 people walked over it in search of the Fraser Gold Rush. At about 1863, a Lumber mill was constructed at the Vancouver area, and it became a very powerful and important place for the whole of Canada, supplying wood to railways. Alaska Cruises have become very popular travelling through Canada and parts of America.
Vancouver was incorporated on April the 6th in 1886, and named so to honour George Vancouver, the naval officer who was a famous explorer. Interestingly though only a few months later a fire broke out and the entire city was razed, it was rebuilt very quickly after this. The overall growth of Vancouver has been significant, but over twenty years after its establishment, it grew by 10000%.
At the end of the 1920s the Great depression got under way. Because there was no work available, people were losing there homes and families, they were taken to internment camps. These people were stuck in these camps for over 4 years, they then escaped and marched on towards Mission City in British Columbia. Unfortunately they didnt get very far, a Gatling gun was positioned on the tracks and the people were escorted back to the camps until the end of the Depression.
If your looking for a lively and beautiful city to visit in Canada, then this is a perfect location for you. Vancouver is home to all kinds of sports arenas and some quality sports teams. Canada tours usually travel through this wondrous city. Why not try Vancouver holidays this year and discover the history of Canada.
