Escaping The Winter Misery

December 26th, 2010

The Winter weather is still hitting the UK hard, and Im making sure that my holiday next year is as far as possible from snowy conditions. The hordes of people stranded at airports this winter have convinced me that a summer holiday, with no possible disruption to flights, is the way to go.

Holidays in Orlando are always a popular choice as there are hundreds of excellent attractions to see. Disney World is the most popular choice, especially for those with children who will run you ragged as they drag you around the four theme parks and resort entertainments in the hotels. Its not just Disney either, there are other adventure roller coaster parks in the area too which are based around other themes, Universal Studios and SeaWorld also have their adventure park sections so you can combine an interest in films or marine life with some white-knuckle rides too.

The recent problems at UK airports may make you worry about flights to Orlando, but there are usually no such problems in the spring and summer months, and even during the problems with the snow, many of the major transatlantic companies were still running flights. Once over the Atlantic, you have a variety of US airports to choose from so in case of disruption theres always a point to land and transfer to your destination. Not forgetting that Florida enjoys winter temperatures that we would be jealous of for a UK summer, so you will always get a nice reprieve from the December chill.

If you quite fancy taking a deviation from the usual tourist spots, a fly drive holiday gives you the freedom to completely explore the surrounding area. For the really adventurous, you could spend a few days seeing the sights in Florida, then book a cruise or a flight, turning quick Orlando breaks into luxury holidays Caribbean style, with the sun-drenched shores of Antigua or Barbados really letting you feel the benefit of that warm sunshine. Florida is the perfect base, allowing you to start and end your holiday is style, and you are guaranted to return to the UK oblivious to the cold and wet with your wonderful holiday memories.

Canada: Land of Adventure

October 19th, 2010

Have you ever sat in your living room watching survival shows hosted by the likes of Ray Mears and Bear Grylls, secretly wishing you could have a go at getting by in the wilderness on insects and plants while reluctantly concurring with your wifes plans for yet another beach holiday? You might have even been camping in a forest with your mates in the hope of recreating a Mears like situation, building your own shelter and attempting to capture a rabbit for sustenance, all this is somewhat undermined however when you can smell the food cooking in your local Haverster just half a mile away.

Rather than going down to your local forest with your luxury tent and disposable barbeque, what you need is a truly fulfilling adventure experience. Canada is a great location to do exactly that, With tens of thousands of acres of undiscovered, unspoiled wooded areas, mountains and national parks, Canada offers the ultimate blank slate for the budding adventurer to get themselves lost in the awesome landscapes. The problem with the UK is just that it is simply not big enough to feel truly isolated, the rural dwelling population is high meaning you are always likely to come across another rambler, or a country pub!

Type in Canada holidays to your browser and you will find hundreds of adventure packages, organized enough to give you a good idea of where to start, but also remaining flexible meaning you can wonder off into the wilderness and do your own thing, if thats your bag! Canada hosts some great city breaks like Toronto Holidays, but if you fancy veering off the beaten track and leaving the modern world behind, an adventure holiday could be just the thing for you. Imagine you and few friends exploring dense pine forrstes, kayaking down beautifully clear freshwater rivers and lakes, and traversing the Rockies by rail. This would be a holiday with a difference, and certainly one youd never forget!

Top 2 Places to Safari!

September 18th, 2010

Safari holidays are a great way to experience adventure at a whole different level. This is just a different way for you to have an adventure, instead of bungee jumping, go out with the lions. Being out in the open with some of the worlds largest animals in the wild, is quite a brilliant experience.

You can enjoy some of the best safari experiences in the two destinations below

The Masai Mara! This is by far the most popular of all the Safari destinations. The Big Five are the biggest tourist attraction of the Masai Mara. The Masai Maras Big Five is the Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino, Lion and Elephant. These animals were called the Big Five, because when they were first hunted on original safaris, they were concerned the most dangerous! The Masai Mara also received more popularity form the TV show; Wild at Heart, which was a show set in the Mara where a British family spent their lives running a safari Park. This has definitely become one of the top places to visit across Africa now. Kenya Safari holidays have received much more publicity recently.

The Serengeti! There isnt much that separates this from the Masai Mara, but it is a very close second. There us a more diverse volume of animals in the Serengeti, and many more animals in general, spread over a larger distance. The Circular Migration is something that can only be experienced in the Serengeti, one of the ten natural wonders. This is where over two million herbivores all gather into one massive herd and travel across the Serengeti! The Serengeti is home to many different natural wonders of the world, including the Ngorongoro Crater, a massive 610 metre deep Volcanic Crater with its floor covering more than 250 square kilometres! Safari holidays are becoming more and more popular, making Tanzania safari holidays a more likely attraction!

Going to Bali? Follow These Tips

September 1st, 2010

One of the most loved tourist destinations during the summer and holidays is Bali in Indonesia. This small island paradise is located in the east of Java. This is also an island of wedding ceremonies and is generally characterized by beautiful beaches and warm sunny days.
If you are planning to go to Bali during peak season, make sure that you confirm your hotel reservation before you come to the place or after landing on the airport. If you are coming during peak season, it is oftentimes difficult to find a room especially if you are on a budgeted trip.Eid-ul fitr festival, New Year, Christmas, and the months of June and July are considered peak seasons in Bali. Make sure you have a place to stay before you come and you can do this even by just surfing the Internet and accessing hotels in Bali.
Be prepared when you come to Bali. A travel itinerary is an important tool to include in your trip since there are many activities to get involved in and plenty of sights to see in Bali. Include in your plan how you would go about the island.

Hiring car rental Bali services is a common way to go around the island. If you love the beach and water adventure, know how to get to the most popular beaches in the island. Mountain-lovers can visit Ubud and Bedugul. For those who want to go shopping, there are many traditional markets to spend those dollars. For most people, a week-long vacation is not enough to explore the whole island. If you are on a short trip, it is therefore necessary to plan where you want to go and how you would get there.

Renting a motorcycle is also an option to get around Bali aside from hiring car rental Bali services. Check if the vehicle has insurance. If you do not know how to drive or do not have an international license, most car rental in Bali also offer driver services so you can get around the place more comfortably. If you are driving and wants some adventure with the rest of your company, find a good Bali map so you do not get lost. It would also be helpful to do an advanced research on the place.

What are the places to visit in Bali? Kuta beach is popular for surfers. For those who want some peace and quiet day at the beach, Sanur beach is the best place to be. Visit some temples or Pura located in each village. Lastly, Bali is popular for great discounts where you can shop for different arts and crafts at a very low price.

Out Of The Ordinary Vacation Ideas For the Adventurous

August 17th, 2010

For some people, the word vacation means sitting on the beach, sipping frozen cocktails, and enjoying exotic nightlife. For others, vacation is a quiet trip to the mountains, canoeing in the lake and taking long strolls through the forest. However, for some, this is an idea that is nothing but boring. These people have a true sense of adventure, and even while on vacation, they need their adrenaline pumping at full speed. For them, vacation means time away from their drab, dull lives. The idea of sitting on the beach is a miserable one, unless they are tasked with swimming with sharks near the coastline. There are plenty of trips for these adventure seekers and action-packed activities that will keep them enjoying the thrills of their plans. Air enthusiasts can enjoy a Floatplane charter or a Floatplane to Torino.

These are great ways to have a scenic tour of an area, which often include places regular tour companies would not be able to reach. Not only do you get a great trip, you will enjoy photo opportunities and sights you will remember forever. Best of all, these trips are affordable and great for just about everyone.

If you prefer water sports to flying, consider a white water rafting adventure. These trips get you out into nature, but from a different perspective from flying. They are the best way to explore some of the wildest rapids the world has to offer and you will be able to have scenic tours of areas you may be unable to reach via hiking or motor vehicle. These trips are often combined with camping or hiking adventures. If the rapids might be too rough, there are options for kayaking or canoeing which can get you near the same areas but without the risk of white water rafting. In some cases, you can combine all three, creating a journey down a quiet stream as well as the wild wonders of the roaring rapids.

For those who want to avoid rafting and air travel, you can plan a wildlife adventure. There are vacation companies that plan adventures that combine a variety of trips. Many of these are filled with danger and wildlife, making them perfect for adventure seekers. You may need a guide to traverse certain countryside’s safely, and tour companies put together trips that come with trained guides, proper equipment, and plenty of fun and adventure. Imagine coming home with photos from a trip where you got to see a bear or moose from just a few feet away! If you cannot decide between one or two of these options, plan them all.

You can combine several adventures into one trip, creating the perfect adventure opportunity. Adventure seekers need not fear; vacations do not have to be about lazy days on the beach.
