• Preveli: Preveli is the most photographed beach in all of Crete, a sandy cove in a dramatic setting at the foot of a steep river gorge. You will have to climb the ancient stone steps past the now-abandoned monastery of Saint John the Theologian to reach the beach, but the trek is worth it for the view alone.

• Erimoupoli: Overlooking the Carpathian Sea is a white sand beach called Erimoupoli, also close to the Itanos archaelogical site. It is completely undeveloped and can get quite windy at times. Nevertheless it is one of the most fascinating of all Crete’s beaches because as the tide goes out, you can catch glimpses of an ancient sunken city, just beyond the water line.

Antarctica Is Wealthy With Resources

 

Many researchers use Antarctica for their scientific studies because there are many things there that can’t be found anywhere else on Earth. Interestingly enough, the continent houses only two percent of the water in the world, but 90 percent of the ice. Sea level is kept in place because of the stability of the great inland ice. Although no elements were contained in the polar snows, trace amounts of DDT have been discovered in seals, some fish, and penguins in Antarctica. The largest of all living things resides in the oceans surrounding Antarctica, and the productivity of the area is shown in this. The highly endangered blue whale is the largest animal ever recorded, and consumes a diet of a ton of shrimp on a daily basis. Lots more fish species live near Antarctica than in the Arctic Ocean.
